Two intense days filled with dialogue, inspiration and hands-on impulses around circular economy solutions for plastics are now behind RIGK and its subsidiaries, plastship GmbH undHannawald Plastik GmbH. At Plastics Recycling Show Europe (PRSE), held from 1 to 2 April 2025, the group of companies presented itself as a reliable partner for future-ready and regulation-compliant recycling solutions – and draws an all-round positive conclusion.
Despite the current challenges facing the industry – from weak demand and rising production costs to increasingly complex regulations – the mood at the RIGK stand was determined and solutions-oriented. In the midst of economic uncertainty, the company sent a clear message: the circular economy is no passing trend, but a shared responsibility and a long-term guiding principle for economic and geopolitical stability.
„PRSE once again highlighted how crucial dialogue is along the entire value chain – from design for recycling to recyclate marketing,“
emphasised Managing Director Jan Bauer in a conversation with Sustainable Plastics on site.
Under the motto “Let’s navigate our way towards a circular economy together,” RIGK presented a broad service portfolio – from return systems and packaging licensing to quality assurance and the certification of recycling processes through PlastCert. The new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) was also a key topic.
„Feedback on our solutions – such as the practical implementation of recyclate quotas or reusable packaging models – was consistently positive,“
reported Markus Dambeck, Chair of the Management Board.
„There was particularly high interest in PlastCert’s expertise, which many visitors see as a vital contribution to transparency and traceability in the circular economy.“
Interest in PlastCert’s certification standards and in recyclate quality was especially high – and not just from Europe, but globally. This demonstrates that, despite prevailing challenges, there is growing momentum to actively drive the transition to a circular economy – and to rely on solutions that meet both regulatory requirements and quality expectations.
High visitor turnout, strong interest in practical solutions, and deepened business relationships all confirmed the success of RIGK’s presence at PRSE. The team took away valuable insights and feels confident it is on the right path. RIGK will continue to develop solutions that advance the circular economy across industry, commerce and agriculture. Engagement with policymakers, support for regional initiatives and the expansion of digital services will also remain central pillars.
Looking ahead, RIGK is already preparing for its next major appearance: at FACHPACK in Nuremberg in September 2025, the company will showcase further solutions for a sustainable circular economy.
