The plastics and packaging industry is facing far-reaching regulatory changes. At the same time, new requirements are raising important questions for businesses: What is already applicable? What needs to be reviewed now? And what specific steps need to be taken?
With the #RIGKWebinarHub, RIGK offers an ongoing webinar series covering current developments in the plastics and packaging industry.
Since 12 August 2026, new regulatory requirements have applied under the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the German Packaging Law Implementation Act (VerpackDG).
For businesses handling packaging not subject to system participation, this raises a key question: What specifically needs to be reviewed and implemented now?
Which requirements are already applicable? What obligations arise from the PPWR and VerpackDG? And which areas should businesses address now?
In our webinar, we provide a concise overview of the current legal framework, explain the key requirements and extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations, and outline what businesses should do next.
