The PAMIRA trademark

The PAckMIttel-Rücknahme Agrar (Packaging Recovery Agriculture) (PAMIRA®) is a voluntary recovery system which the German plant protection industry has practiced successfully in collaboration with the trade since 1996 on a nationwide scale, with the objective of guaranteeing the responsible and controlled recovery and recycling of empty used plant protection products and liquid fertiliser packaging.

Used packaging bearing the PAMIRA trademark can be handed in anywhere in Germany on certain dates to our collection points – and free of charge. The producers of the plant protection products voluntarily bear the costs of the collection, logistics and recycling of the packaging. The approximately 396 collection points are provided by the trade.

® = registered trademark of Industrieverbandes Agrar e.V. (IVA)

Which packaging is returnable?

At the PAMIRA-SYSTEM collection points, all packaging from plant protection products, liquid fertilisers, biological stimulants, inventory protective substances, growth regulators, sprayer cleaners and spray additives labelled with the PAMIRA trademark can be handed in. These currently include canisters and barrels, but also volume-flexible packaging such as sacks, bags and boxes made from plastic and paper as well as metal packaging.

Important: packaging from seed dressing packaging from 50 litres must be returned via PAMIRA SEED DRESSINGS.

How does the return work?

For the reliable and environmentally-friendly disposal and recycling of the returned agricultural pesticide packaging, various conditions must be fulfilled on return.

First of all, the packaging must be completely emptied, rinsed and dried. In addition, it is to be sorted according to plastic, metal and bags, whereby containers over 50 litres must be separated. Locks are to be delivered separately and sorted.

On delivery to the collection point, the packaging is inspected by trained personnel. Packaging which does not fulfil the terms of acceptance unfortunately has to be rejected. In case of larger delivery quantities (from 15 m³), we ask you to arrange an appointment in advance in order to avoid long waiting times.

Sustainable recycling

PAMIRA is a simple system for the reliable, environmentally-friendly and sustainable disposal of empty plant protection products - and liquid fertiliser packaging – and it works! Currently, approximately three quarters of all packaging is collected and added to a suitable recycling system by us via PAMIRA. After the successful acceptance, your packaging is either recycled as material (for the production of new plastic products) currently the recycling rate for canisters is over 90 percent.

You can find more information on the PAMIRA website.
