ProREP officially launched in Chile: RIGK's consultancy project for the take-back and recycling system for industrial packaging in Chile successfully concluded

RIGK successfully provided its more than 30 years of expertise to introduce a take-back and recycling system for industrial packaging in Chile.

ProREP was originally launched in 2019 by a group of companies and the consultancy firm RIGK Chile, which was once a subsidiary of RIGK. Today, ProREP presents itself as an independent take-back system and has already mobilised more than 300 companies. These companies are actively working together in Chile as ProREP to take back and recycle commercial and industrial packaging.

In 2023, ProREP completed the approval process as an official system as Chile's national antitrust agency, the Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia (TDLC), and the Ministry of Environment, the Ministerio de Medio Ambiente (MMA), confirmed the establishment and management plan for ProREP as a "Sistema de Gestión Colectivo (SG)" take-back-system for industrial packaging. Since September 2023, ProREP is operational, complying with its members' recycling quotas.

RIGK Chile was advised in the development and launch of ProREP by RIGK and Valipac, both are successful take-back system operators in Europe.
